About me

When I first started creating seasonal Celebrations with women 26 years ago, it was a fun way of winding down from accumulated stress. We were all flat out with juggling demanding social and educational work, our families, a constant labour battle for improved working conditions and a never ending political fight for social justice.

History

Those women-only gatherings when we would greet the phases of the Great Wheel gave us all added strength and a deep affection for shared sisterly Ritual. The practice of celebrating significant birthdays began, then the retirement parties. My own retirement meant taking on studies at the International College of Celebrancy as the demand for ceremonies increased beyond my circle of friends and colleagues.

Sadly, as time went on more sombre ceremonies were needed and I undertook further studies in funeral procedures. I understand grief, I have known much of it, and I have an eternal affinity with every woman in the world who has buried her children. So many funerals are just awful memories, I had to make them better.

The Future

Time has brought another dimension and more reasons for celebrations. My baby boomer generation has reached that third life stage, the Crone. There’s still a lot to learn about menopause, and aging, and coping with the rubbish that life throws out. I’m celebrating the Seasons again, this time as they pass through our bodies.

How can I arrange a ceremony?
If you live in Australia it’s a good start, I’m based in Melbourne, in the inner city region although I travel frequently for ceremonies in the Victorian gold country, and interstate. My fee for a personal ceremony is the standard $400. Transport costs are extra. I prefer to travel by VLine train or coach so travel costs are kept minimal.
